| Architectureka!
began in 2009, as an idea to create an online database of architecture
- from Architects, to buildings, to individual architectural features.
It turned out to be a huge undertaking, and we're still
working on it now! So here it is, being updated every day -
as it most likely will be forever, as the world of construction is
forever changing. Manchester alone has changed hugely in the
short time since this site began, so it's unlikely we'll ever run out
of things to write about. Most of the work is done by Kathleen Gray. She graduated from UMIST in 2005 with a Masters degree in Building Services Engineering. As well as designing architectural services systems, she has worked in manufacturing, technical writing and web development. As well as writing for the site, it is also maintained, edited and designed by Kathleen. Ian Pattinson is an occasional writer for the site. He concentrates on photographing older architecture in and around Manchester, often including images of old mills and warehouses (well, there are enough of them). |
